Thrive Occupational Therapy
for Kids
Kids are born to play, develop and learn- it’s their rite of passage. Thrive enables kids to do exactly that, to the fullest of their potential by focusing on the following aspects of childhood development:
Sensory processing skills- the ability to process and organise an appropriate response to the information received though a child’s senses (sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch, body position and movement). Gross motor skills- activities involving large muscles or muscle groups to perform major body movements. They include walking, running, jumping, hopping, climbing and many more. Fine motor skills- activities involving the small muscles of the hand performing precision tasks. Examples include drawing, cutting, manipulating small objects, using cutlery and handwriting. Activities of daily living- those that make up key elements of the child’s day. Examples include dressing, eating, bathing and sleeping. Play – the ability to engage in both solitary and interactive play through the use of social skills, communication and imagination. |
